Click and Drop Advice?

Options
Hi, I have not sold anything on Ebay or Amazon for a few years and back then i used to weigh my parcel and print my postage online at home using "Royalmail Online Postage" service and take to the post office. The last time i sent a parcel ROP was being fazed out in favour of a new service called Click & Drop but i did not get to use this new service.

I would like to start sending a number of parcels now but although taking them to the post office seems the easiest option the click and drop prices seem a bit cheaper, having watched a video about click and drop it seems complicated with the idea of merging your accounts with it etc, does anybody have recent experience of this service and is it similar to the old version.

I just want to use a simple service at least at the moment for an occasional user!

If you use ebay then the easiest way is to just use ebay postage as it picks up the recipient and return address automatically and it reflects the RM prices (currently 30P cheaper for a 2nd parcel that charged by PO ) you will still need to get proof of posting from the Post office though. For everything else I print either from paypal or I use click and drop but  as I rarey use it I have not integrated my accounts and just manually input the two post codes and choose the correct address- and then pay via paypal.

I do actually have a business acocunt but am not currently using it as that works out dearer than even the Post Office counter prices.

As an occasional user myself I use Click and Drop just manually entering the addresses.  I do have an account but in practice all that means is I can see the history of what I've sent and it saves my own details for the return address.

You don't even need an account though to send one-offs though.  https://send.royalmail.com/  You just buy the postage (cheaper), print it off then take it to the Post Office if you need proof of postage.

I don't know how it compares to the old version but it can be very simple, even with an account.
