Recommendations for insurance for learner driver with own car
Options
I have always found car insurance to be a bit of a minefield so want to get this right for my daughter...
Scenario:
She is 17, taking driving lessons but would like 'extra' practice in her own car which I feel is a good idea as I did this and it really helped build my confidence.
She has her own car - a 1litre Hyundai.
We are looking for insurance that would do the following:
allow her to drive with her mother in the passenger seat (full licence-holder for many years)
build up no-claims bonus while doing this
would prefer 'full-year' insurance rather than pay for a few months which then ends when she passes her test, something that just continues would be preferred.
happy to have a black-box fitted, in fact think it would be a good idea
Anyone who has been in a similar situation, what did you end up doing and does anyone have any comments on what we may be missing or who sounds like a decent insurer for this sort of thing?
Any and all advice appreciated as always.

Collingwood.
Take it out for the year and the unused portion will be refunded when she passes her test. It's not very expensive.1 -
Only one word of caution ref Collingwood... They tell you to cancel when you pass the test, but they charge £35 cancellation fee when you do and if you are already into the 9th month of 12 they then tell you that there is no refund available. But they still want their £35!!! Two requests to waive this charge have been met with "this is what you signed up for in the small print". Buyer beware!-1

Buyer beware! It's common for many insurers to charge an admin fee for any change to the policy. And yes, you should always read the T&Cs when you take out any financial product. It's also common for new posters who resurrect threads that are many months old (and post the same thing on duplicate threads) to be regarded by some as spammers - just a note of caution1
