We have a Dyson which is great but obviously not cheap. Ours is the D7 which if still available will be cheaper than current models. It's our main vaccumDedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

I also use a Dyson handheld - it is a "car" model that I purchased from Aldi or Lidl. Again, not cheap.
In fact, the MSE view would be to have the car cleaned once a month at Tesco hand car wash at £10 a time that would be 2 years just to pay for the vacuum. Of course, if your use of the car means it needs vacuuming cleaning more frequently, the value of the hand-held vacuum will be better return on investment.1 -
As the Dyson could also be used as main vaccum you could argue the cost per use would be less and return on investment more.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

I had a Dyson D7, which proved unreliable after the warranty expired. I replaced it with a Vytronix, which cost about £70 as against £250+ for another Dyson.
It's very similar in all respects, and so far no problems. If any do arise, buying a new one will cost about the same as an authorised Dyson repair ...1 -

Recently bought a Shark IZ300UK from John Lewis to replace an ageing and always disappointing Dyson, and it’s been excellent. Much easier to hoover the house with than dragging a heavy vacuum with a long mains lead around, and it seems to pick everything up that it encounters. This model also has the right nozzles to get into the gaps in a car.
The JL deal was a good one, but pay attention to the actual model number as there are differences, not least the age of the design and the battery capacity.0 -
Go for a cordless Henry with 2 batteries.Small cordless vac are just a waste of money. Car carpets need powermake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.1 -
I use the dyson v10 house vacuum.
I find those micky mouse car vacuums are useless at pickup up dirt that bedded into car upholstery. The car carpart tends to bebthe worse for collecting dirt and needs a proper with agitating brush heads to get them out.1
