Tesco credit card problem with Sainsbury's online

in Credit cards
I've held a Tesco credit card for more years than I can remember and always pay the balance off in full each month.
Every Friday I have an online grocery delivery from Sainsbury's paid for with the Tesco credit card. This morning, I had a text from Sainsbury's saying the payment had been declined and to contact the card provider, which I did. Tesco told me they had declined the payment as Sainsbury's have not signed up to some online anti-fraud protection system and they will not make further payments to Sainsbury's until they do.
I called Sainsbury back to deliver the good news. They knew nothing about this and asked, before taking payment from me with an alternative card, could they please try one more time to take payment with the Tesco card. This payment went through straight away and the groceries got delivered.
I'm a little concerned at placing further grocery delivery orders with Sainsbury just in case my card gets declined again, it was only pure chance I was up and looking at my text messages at 6.30 am that I saw the message at all. What on earth are Tesco bank doing? Has anyone else experienced this?

I went to pay for my instore weekly shop at Sainsbury's on Thursday, using my Tesco credit card. It, too, was declined and I was asked to use an alternative method of payment. Instead, I retried my Tesco card and the transaction went through, although I had to use my PIN rather than contactless.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

Worrying that Sainsburys have not signed up to something that seems as if it would protect their cardholders.0
