So it's nearly 3 months into my adaptions by the contractors chosen by my Home Improvements Agency, after raising a few concerns in the coming up to xmas period, I was mollified as I was told by the contractors that it was a complete surprise to them and because of Brexit/Covid etc, and they would do a brilliant job to make up for it...needless to say they have not, my wetroom is poorly tiled, holes around the pipes etc, the planned out months in advance and came with a 3d cad plan looks like a toddler that had been at the sherry had glued it together...it is, an utter shambles: this shows why the top pic looks odd, the hob in the bottom one was fitted in the wrong place, as you can see by the wall cupboards top right, the top picture is how I was told it was "Fixed" by shuffling the cupboards about. (I have not approved/signed this off) I did
the formal complaint thing and found out today that 2 complaint inspectors are coming on Monday 7th to do an assessment inspection, my question is this, Is it legal to record them while they are here, do I have to inform them of it, I probably will anyway as I'm not 007, and is there some way that I can get a pro bono person who is aware of the myriad rules and standards to attend as my rep?

Sorry,I don't quite understand what the issue is from looking at the pics.Of course you can record them in your house, however they can also turn round and say they are not going to complete the inspection whilst your are filming and leave.0

What I would do is have a comprehensive list* prepared of all the snagging problems you can identify and present it to them before they start inspecting. (Whether they'll accept it or not - I don't know - they might consider it "interference".)
Make sure the list highlights problems that you will encounter as a wheelchair user that may not be obvious to an able-bodied person. eg "Because they've located X here, it makes it impossible for me to use Y etc".
Also include examples of "ordinary" sub-standard work and any deviations from plan. (Or point out how poor the plan is).
I'm not sure what benefit you get from filming them, but you can ask. Personally, I'd have thought it might get their backs up as it more than implies that you don't trust them from the outset. You want them on your side, don't you... ?
*If you give them a list, it makes it more difficult for them to ignore those faults - if there were any possibility that they might.2
