HotelBeds Fake booking - help needed

I booked 2 rooms at a hotel through booking.com - I no longer needed them so cancelled online. All good.

To double check, I rang the hotel who tell me they have a booking for 2 different style rooms booked in my name, same dates via HotelBeds. I did not make this booking.

The hotel won’t cancel as it needs to be done by HotelBeds but as I don’t have a booking with them I can’t cancel it!

I am stuck with the hotel refusing to cancel and no booking on HotelBeds to cancel- I am going to be charged the 2 nights stay.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

It might just be a matter of time before HotelBeds cancel the booking with the hotel. How long before your cannot cancel according to your contract with HotelBeds?

How did you pay? Does the hotel have details of your payment details?
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

I never booked with hotel beds at all. I have nothing that relating to the room styles or their company at all. I don’t know if the room has been held with my card details or what’s going on. All the hotel tell me is there are 2 rooms booked in my name. I did have 2 rooms, of a different style, booked with booking.com but they have cancelled and confirmed they let the hotel know. Unless they use HotelBeds as a 3rd party?
