I'm currently with E.On.

My fixed ends at the end of march. Just in time for the 54% rise.

So I'm looking at my account and the nextflex is £117.91pm it's telling me right now on our estimated usage.

But increase by 54% and it's £181.58pm. then £203pm after the crystal ball increase in October.

I'm being offered next online v9 at £161.93pm with no exit fees.

This looks to me like we should fix. What is the forum opinion?

(We're expecting an EV in October also, for reference)

Next Online v9 looks like a good tariff. Others have chosen it in preference to the April variable cap.
In your position, I'd strongly consider it.

  • I have taken this fix to start mid March when my fix ends, and im pretty sure ill be paying less on this than the new price cap
    Debt
    May 2020: £16,307
    June 2020: £10,303
    Total: £6,004 / £16,008 (36.82%)
    4/10 accounts cleared
  • Is there a chance of a link to get that tariff because I cant get to it (or any similar)
  • Its only available to exising customers, they emailed me about my fixed rate ending and with this new fix.

  • Dam that explains it, yes its a good fix.   The one for new customers is fairly awful

Thanks, your post prompted me to take the fix. I currently pay £79 pm. My current fix ends on 04/03/22 when the price was due to increase to £113 on the SVR. 54% price cap rise would've taken me to £174 pm less than 4 weeks later. The variable flex offer was £109 pm (could go to £167 pm with 54% rise).

The next online v9 for me is £150, so I am saving £24 per month for the six months to October when prices are expected to go up again. Seemed sensible to fix, particularly as no exit fee and I can move away if prices fall later.

That's what swayed me. I may have questioned it more had there been exit fees. But I said to my partner, let's fix, then if by some Miracle the flex rate is cheaper after the April cap rise, we'll just switch over
