£200 over 5 years will there be interest.

The current rise would leave  lot of families struggling.

Absolutely disgusting that every household in the UK will be forced into debt via what I feel as an illegally forced loan what makes it worse is between now and next April (first due payment) they'll be another two price cap rises

How are electric companies going to keep track of what's owed/been repaid when folk move from one supplier to another?

What if current account holder leaves and moves to another house and another person moves out of their parents and  moves into the house with the debt?.

Just seems rather unplanned and very seedy.

    Can't believe he said it's a discount!? A discount isn't a bloody loan or am I wrong?

There's no interest, there isn't even a "loan" in the usual sense of the word. Everyonre will get a £200 credit to your electricity account in October and then everyone will pay a slightly higher tariff for five years some time afterwards.
It's crazy but it kicks the can down the road another 6 months.

Wait till October, get the £200 credit to your bill, and then either freeze to death or starve to death, no need to pay it back then.  That will be the reality for many.
