I live in a Band E house which I have spent 20 years paying for it. Guy down the road lives in a band D and can afford to buy a New 40K every year! He will get the £150 and I wont so how is that fair!

My point exactly just because the councils band differently. Who in the government thought up this ridiculous scheme that excludes band E as if were all rich !!0

I had my neighbours complaining recently that they'd been re-banded from a C to an E following improvements (comparing their house to mine which they said was bigger, truth is E is probably right for them and I should be an F!). I'm steering well clear of them now given this latest news!Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard1

Improvements like extensions don't cause the band to increase, unless the property has been sold since the improvements. lol I am am a band E in a 4 bed detached but is well insulated - yes I am on a fixed deal til 2023 with Plusnet but
Per Annum elec 1527.2 kWh estmated but provide monthly meter readings
gas 9415 kWh estimated etc
I have cental heating thermostat at 14 degrees and wear layers and a hat indoors. I have a wood burning stove in sitting room which I light at about midday. My DD is 66 pm - I am in credit +140. Am a singleton which does make a difference0 -
