Pathetic government response to the energy crisis

To see how governments can and are intervening to respond to the energy crisis we don't have to look very far. All over Europe governments are taking different approaches, even those countries whose hands are tied by the EU (sarcastic face as obviously I'm joking).
As an example, I am with EDF. EDF are owned by the French state. Customers of EDF in France will see their bills increase by 4%. State ownership is absolutely fine in the UK, provided it's not the UK state that is the owner. The cost to the French state will be large of course. Almost, but not quite, as large as the cost to the UK state written off recently to massive fraud and incompetence.
Today's announcements are all a bit pathetic really. Government of spivs.

Electric & Gas are a necessity so why were they ever privatised ??
Any savings made by competition for the customer is then lost by the extra company costs of people switching suppliers all the time.1 -

Although do note that I will be breaking down that 100% between 70% on a unit rate of agreement, plus 50% on a standing charge agreement. There will also be a 10% charge for admin. Plus 5% VAT. And you'll have to do your own spreadsheet to work this out.0 -

Even though the suppliers were actually encouraging the switching all the time with new customer offers such as £50 off your first bill...Fred2712 said:Electric & Gas are a necessity so why were they ever privatised ??
