Is Gas going up more than electricity?

So as usual the headlines are focussed on an overall percentage increase and and an "average user" cash value increase.
Am I right in thinking that it looks likely that unit prices for gas will increase more than unit prices for electricity? A 54% unit price rise for gas would take the cost to around 6p a unit, but many are quoting 7p a unit. That would be more like a 75% increase.

Probably, yes, but we need to wait to see the details which should be released soon.

The increase in gas is solely down to the increase in the wholesale price of gas.Electricity generation is about one third gas. The rest is mostly nuclear and wind. So if the price of gas goes up, the price of electricity goes up less.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
That's what you'd hope and even expect but somehow it doesn't always seem to work that way in practiceEctophile said:The increase in gas is solely down to the increase in the wholesale price of gas.Electricity generation is about one third gas.
