sink plug and mixer tap rant.

I had a new kitchen sink fitted and while mostly everything is ok the plug for the kitchen sink is a disaster. There is no chain so the only way to pull it out is to put your hand into the sink full of boiling water and pull it out.
And as for the mixer tap if you have just run some hot water and you want a drink of cold you have to waste the hot water in the spout.
Who ever thought that those were good designs?

I assume this is not a serious rant, and is just a bit of fun.I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!5

Straining plugs you pull at are fairly standard. if you didn't like that design you should have bought a different sink.
Also if the water is so hot you can't put your hands in it, your water is too hot, try adding some cold.
and yes, that is how mixer taps work. Maybe try drawing the glass of cold water first then using the hot after? Or keep a jug of water in the fridge if you like really cold drinking water.

Of course it is a serious rant, aren't all rants serious?IvanOpinion said:I assume this is not a serious rant, and is just a bit of fun.0 -
Sometimes it is necessary to have very hot water in the sink.jon81uk said:

Also what if it is full of bleach or other cleaning chemicals0 -

If you regularly need large quantities of waer with bleach in it then get a bucket and some rubber gloves anyway.JohnSwift10 said:

But again if having a plug with a stopper on a chain was so important to you, why didn't you buy a sink with that specification??1 -
I cannot think of anything serious to say on this topic so I will bow out then.JohnSwift10 said:

Good idea, stainless steel sinks don't hold the water temperature very well.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
