im a new member so hope I’m posting correctly here.
My family and I are returning back to the UK from NL after 10 years.
We are very excited and will take some time away from work for the first year to settle back into the Uk.
As we have been out of the UK for 10 years and have no assets or accounts back in the UK, we are seeing we need to start from scratch in all credit related asks (Car insurance, mobile phones, mortgages etc).
Is this the case or can we bring over any info from NL to support in any lending needs or asks?
Alternatively, what is the best way to get our credit up as quick as we can? We will be renting for the initial 12 months for now.
Thanks in advance for any tips or advice.

Your overseas credit history won't count in the UK, unless one of your lenders there also operates over here.
You'll need to build a credit history through a bank account, a mobile contract, a credit card, ER registration, etc, subject to acceptance.

You'll be starting from ground zero, i.e. a blank sheet of paper.1

How do you intend to rent housing (as you say you have no assets here) in the UK without any income? It's likely that you would have to pay a minimum of 6m upfront, plus the deposit. No free lunch, and no free laptop2
