a diaphragm is normally ~£10 so what other parts are they using? Are they changing the whole valve instead? What boiler exactly?1

yep thats a ripoff for the part if the are just changing the rubber bit, but the overall price for fixing the boiler is not bad.
difficult in winter when fixing boilers is something everybody needs done right away, hence you get a minimum £300 for any "boiler fix"2 -
Thanks for your replies. I did question the price quoted as it seemed expensive. Price is not just the diaphragm but the whole valve/housing assembly for it so I can understand why. Its an old baxi combi boiler. To be in your child's memories tomorrow, be in their life today.0

Is it a Baxi 105HE/E or 80HE or E?
If it’s just the front diaphragm I could have that changed in under 10 minutes. Is he buying the whole differential and or diverter behind…they’re very expensive and unnecessary.1 -
