So we are due to fly to Spain this evening. My daughter turned 16 today which means she should be able to get her covid vax certificate online or through the app but she is just gettign an error message. This is possibly linked to the govt announcing that from today 12-15 year olds can also get an online vax certificate (previously only paper).
Whatever the reason it seems my trip is screwed. Any suggestions beyond going back in time and requesting a paper one a week ago?!
Thanks

Her trip is screwed, leave her at home and go yourself. Leaving it until the day of the flight to hope it appeared was always a risky strategy.1

Did you previously obtain a paper copy of the certificate as a backup?0

So - I went on the gov website 2 weeks ago and it said over 13 could use the app so I ordered paper for my 12 year old.
Then 3 days ago my then 15yo tried to do it on the app and found that whilst she was old enough to download and register you had to be 16 to actually use the app to get a cert so I ordered a paper one then realising it might be too late but assuming that as she turned 16 today it should still work.
Then today govt website says that anyone over 13 can now get their cert on the app from today (3 Feb). DD who is 16 today can log in, can see her vax records but if I choose any of the download/email certificate options the website just posts a generic error and logs her out - same on the app. No doubt someone in IT has broken something, perhaps with an edge case or perhaps related to the new 13-15 functionality released today.
So I have printed out the records I can see on screen which include the QR codes and am hoping that this will be accepted - otherwise our 2 night birthday trip will be a 1 hour visit to the airport and back.I think....0 -
As she only turned 16 today the system may not be updated yet. Try later today.1

Has your daughter tried to access her NHS online account via the web (not the App)? I think we just downloaded paper copies of our vaccinations from there last year.
Hope you find a solution.0 -

I’m only guessing, but I would think the QR codes are what the airline check in people would scan.
Does your airline have anywhere you can upload the QR codes as a try out?

Saying that, Easyjet checked absolutely nothing when we flew to Holland, not even to see if we had been recently tested.
If the OPs daughter hasnt filled in their public health online form, or been included on the adults one, with the correct documentation uploaded, she likely wont get into Spain. Be interested to see how this develops.
