Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, not so blustery as it has been.
DH and DS1 up and getting ready for work, I'm showered and dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was Italian style chicken and dumplings - delicious it was too - all gone. Not sure what we'll be having tonight - possibly egg, bacon, sausage, potatoes and beans.
Yesterday work was ok, but was asked if I could do a cover as they think someone is going to phone in sick today - yet again. Bosses getting really fed up with having to ask other members of staff to do the cover and it's the same staff going off and they are powerless to do that much but it just heaps pressure on the staff that are left. This week if I end up doing the sick cover this afternoon I will have done a full week of more sick cover than my normal contracted hours. At least today is my last working day until Monday so once I'm finished this afternoon I'm done until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks, thanks for starting us off nmlc. Sorry to hear about your difficulties at work, hope it gets sorted.Yesterday I got to the delivery office in time to send of my return, it's only open for two hours a day and we don't have a post office any more. The rest of the day passed in gentle pottering and resting. 😀 The rain stopped me going back out.Last night I was woken at 4.30 a.m. by a power cut. My Bluetooth speaker gives a very loud beep when disconnected, and then the bedside light flashed a couple of times before stopping as they are on the Wi-Fi. The power came back on fairly quickly but then the light was on again, I had to wait until the Wi-Fi sorted itself out before I got it turned off. Eventually I got back to a fitful sleep. This morning I'm off to Glasgow for a dental hygienist appointment in the early afternoon, I'm staying down overnight at my favourite hotel in town though I'm keeping an eye on the weather forecast which shows a threat of snow. Before heading off I want to get a wash done and on the airier so I'll be getting myself up and ready soon.Virtual hugs to all those who could use one. Happy Thursday to all.14

Morning all
Not quite as cold here this morning, yesterday turned into quite a nice day and was lovely and mild in the afternoon, the clients and I sat outside for a short while before they went home which was nice.
Off to work today and the three lads today who are all lovely but exhausting I am glad its my last working day this week. Today we will make cottage pie, we did the mash yesterday so its just the base to do.
Not sure about dinner tonight but possibly sausage and chips or maybe a curry will see what we fancy later. DW to empty this morning.
Taff big pup is an American Bull dog and the most gentle dog ever, she was a rescue pup, she is my dd's dog and is devoted to my dd, she will follow her everywhere, the new vet called yesterday and has already discovered what is causing the skin problem. dd will collect the meds tomorrow and hopefully we will see an improvement. Our pup is a jackapoo and tiny like a Jack Russell, she rules the roost and is top dog, big dog knows her place and does whatever little pup says, they are such a funny couple.
Have good days all and take care xxx15 -
Morning
Busy day today… for me anyway
Asda delivery first thing. No freezer stuff still apart from some mushrooms needed for a curry at the weekend. Zoom call with my volunteer organisation this morning. I detest zoom calls so may have a “broken camera”. 2 hrs too goodness knows what they want to discuss. Have put some decent clothes on waist up just in case! Volunteer calls this afternoon so will no doubt need a binge tv watch later. Started watching the Teacher yesterday so need to finish episode 2, so far so good . Lots of good drama on atm
Made a big load of mash last night and had some with sausage and beans. The rest I’m going to use up today as tuna pea and caper fishcakes.
No plans for any house stuff but I’ll see how the day flows
Thanks for your offer Floss but a bag came through yesterday so I can carry on mission declutter this week
Have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It feels much milder this morning but it's still blooming dark. There's never two days alike.
I had a lovely day out with my friend yesterday. We went to Ilkley and after a slow amble along browsing, but not spending, we were more than ready for our lunch, which went down a treat with our bottle of wine. Much catching up and reminiscing was done as usual.
Today will not be as pleasant. I have been summoned in to the Doctors for a review as it has been noticed I haven't seen anyone since pre-Covid. I will also get the result of last week's blood test so fingers crossed on that. I should have time to clean the kitchen and bathroom before I go and then it will be a lazy afternoon reading. I've got a bag of hm chilli out defrosting for tea.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, convalescing or just fed up. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Good morning, seems to be dry this morning, we've had no significant rain for ages.Sorry to hear work is such a nightmare NMLC.I didn't seem to get much done yesterday, there were a couple of long phone calls with friends, then DD wanted a chat about stuff going on in her partner's family. Not that I minded any of this at all, I can easily catch up.Dgs is not coming today, I'm going out to meet a friend that I haven't seen since last year, so dgs can come tomorrow. One thing I did do was set up the friends whatsapp group that I'd been talking about, it will be a time saver. No orange curd was made, I'll try for that this afternoon. There's also apples to use up that I'd stored in the shed in the autumn, not a lot though.Hope you enjoy your trip to Glasgow Gers.Your new vet seems to be on the ball Ruby, what a good thing you found him.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.15

Good morning everyone, thanks for the thread nmlc. I hope your day at work isn’t too bad.
Enjoyed seeing Groundhog Day at the cinema last night. DH was meant to come with me but got a better offer to go meet some friends to discuss a forthcoming camping trip. Pup’s limp is virtually non existent this morning, but will continue to rest him and no throwing of ball in the garden (he does charge around with abandon).
Dinner last night was carbonara. Will walk to Ts for supplies later and will do a big shop at A!di tomorrow night. We plan to start some decorating at the weekend, and there’s rugby on, so I don’t want to use time food shopping.
BG agreed to reduce the service plan by £100 so now paying £48 for the year – all achieved over a whatsapp conversation – so much better than holding on the phone.
Venue for Saturday’s lunch have replied to my email and have pushed back on my points. Apparently if I’d wanted ice-buckets for the prosecco I needed to pre-order them…. Not my only feedback point, but let’s just say I won’t be going back!
Dp1 – take it easy, doctors orders!
Jackie – big (gentle) hugs to Val x
Taff and TA – good luck with the blood tests x
Hugs to all the poorlies – take care of yourselves x

Wet and blowy this morning, take care on your drive down Gers, it won't be pleasant. I have all the windows open for a good blow through and the stove has been lit, it's been a godsend whilst I've been off. I much prefer the heat from the fire to the central heating and it should be saving a few pennies too.
I can go out today, hurrah, but not going back to work - maybe tomorrow! I've sent off a PCR so should really wait until the result of that before I go out. I just need to get some buttons for the little one's cardigan, I do have some but can't thread a small enough needle for the wool and the big needle doesn't fit through the holes!
Sorry you are still having problems at work nmlc.
Pleased to hear the vet has found the problem Ruby.
Loved the photo of the little chef Florence. Meant to say what a good idea the phone bag is, may have to make one for my elderly Aunt.
Enjoy your catch up with your friend Scarlett.
Right, off to the shower then the washing can go on, only PJs really! Take care.XX13 -
Morning, hugs if you need one.
Short post from me this morning. My cleaner phoned last night, she has tested positive for Covid yesterday, she was here on Monday..........so I need to do LF tests this morning. Up to now we both feel ok. I had to phone the painter, he is going to come in and shut himself in the bedroom. If we have to have any contact with him we will wear masks and stand well away from him. I think he will stay late and get the job finished tonight. He got the wall paper on and painted the ceiling yesterday. So its just the walls and the gloss.11 -
Good morning,
Sorry I've been mia, we had a tragedy in the family before Christmas and it's taking time to come to terms with.
Going to meet a friend for coffee this morning, then go for a walk as I need to lose all the weight I've put on.
Have a good a day as you can 🌻13 -
