Octopus Go cheaper then fixing. Is there a catch?
Hi. Just looking at fixing ahead of the energy price cap announcement in the hope that fixing might be better using Martin's 40% advice.
I'm with octopus and a loyalty fix is 60% higher so that's a no brainer avoid, but weirdly my areas quoted Octopus Go tariff (we have a smart meter) is only 30% higher.
Am I missing something with these tariffs or should I be jumping at this before it goes?
Thanks for any direction or help, definitely not an expert with energy.

Do you have an EV? If not, you can't have this tariff.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.1

Octopus Go is Elec only, so if you also need Gas you need to add the cost of that and re calculate Martin's 40% guide. It's also restricted to EV owners.1

OK yeah sorry I forgot to add we are a electricity only flat which is why I was looking.
We don't have an electric vehicle but do have a storage heater so I saw some benefit to it, currently on a day/night eco7 set up.
Didn't realise you HAD to have an electric car so I suspect maybe that's the catch?0 -

People have managed to sign-up without an EV, but the requirement is there so they do have the right to move you to a different tariff if they want to later on...2
