Car End of Lease Damage Charges

Thanks for you help all.
And I'm going to check the link above.
I'll report how I get on in the next few weeks in case anyone else needs to know.
Yes the constant cancellations were a pain, but even though I had another car lined up, I had to extend the insurance on the lease car until they could carry out the damage checks.0 -
When we returned our Zoe to RCI they just automatically took the Manheim report and sent us a bill. When we phoned them up about it within about 5 minutes they had cancelled all the charges.I get the impression Manheim "cover their own backs" by noting down everything that could possibly be considered damage regardless of the wear and tear guidelines!1

Collection company does, what it's asked for. The same guy will be inspecting cars for different funders and will apply their requirements. So he might be really lax with inspection for one company and then going with comb for another one.
I read a lot of bad things about Manheim and the guy was very reasonable and quick when inspecting car collected on behalf of Leasys.
And of course, reject the charges, there's a chance they cost will be lowered or cancelled.1 -
I’ve handed back 4 lease cars. Each time I checked them over against the bvla guidelines referenced above, cleaned them and did a quick video walk round plus photographed any questionable areas. When the inspection / pickup occurred I was pleasantly surprised on first 3.The final one last March went overboard & charged me £230. There were 2 marks at £50 each that I should have challenged but tbh I was too busy. I had the evidence though. Without the evidence it’s harder.1
