I agree with Alderbank, you're out of your depth. That's not a criticism of you, I'm reasonably mechanically savvy but I wouldn't consider buying from the place you've described because I don't know enough. Buy from a normal dealership instead. You risk ending up with a lemon that will cost you far more than any saving you might make on the purchase price due to it being a repo. There are plenty of drivers out there who don't maintain/check/service their cars regularly even though they can afford to. If the owners of these cars have had them repossessed due to financial hardship, what are the chances that they've paid to maintain and service them regularly, rather than just running them as cheaply as they can and only spending money when things break down?dawnt80 said:Not exactly, it's a company who buy vehicles which have been repossessed due to financial hardship. in an ideal world id take a mechanic but it's not an ideal world.
thanks the advice helps me cover as many bases as I can, buying I guess always has risk involved0 -
Yup, another vote from buying from a brand-led dealership as you’re well over your head.0

The AA and RAC will do vehicle inspections for members and non-members. I don't have personal experience of either but would be worth investigating if you are not car savvy.

You can get the RAC to give it a thorough check up. AA may do the same. It’s not that cheap but worth it especially if they find something wrong.0
