Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, air is cold.
DH and DS1 up and getting ready for work, I'm showered and dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish and rice/veg - tonight we'll be having LO roast pork braised in gravy with LO yorkshires, pots and veg.
Yesterday work wasn't too bad, so we'll so how today goes!
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. I've been awake half the night listening to the wind howling around us. Has one of the storms resurrected itself, I thought they had moved on. After Saturday's damage I am feeling twitchy. The forecast is for a milder day and the wind to stay with us all day.
I have been putting my sleeplessness to good use by doing the new months banking and moving money around. Living from the freezers all January has paid dividends with just 2 deliveries of fresh stuff to pay for.. I have still plenty in them to get stocks down a bit further, then I will have room to do some batch cooking.
It's coffee 'n lunch day with oldest buddy today as usual. We both did our tests last night and both safe to meet up. I'll get blown down to the bus stop in this wind!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and those just fed up. Take care and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all
Feels much colder here today it was a strugle to get out of the warm bed this morning, off to work for me and we are going to make some soup today which should keep us warm.
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and look in the freezer after this maybe fahitas as we have all the bits for them.. DW needs emptying and a wash putting on before work,
Big pup is off to a new vet tonight for her ongoing skin problems, the vet she was going to seems to just be pumping her full of drugs which are doing nothing to help her and are dangerous long term, we have been reccomended a vet who does homeopathic alongside conventional medicine so we are really hoping they can help her.
Camelot hope you continue to be ok with the lurgy xxx
Have good days all xxx

Morning folks and thanks for starting us off nmlc.Hope you enjoy meeting up with your friend TA and the walk to the bus isn’t too windy. It’s certainly windy up here.Just the weather for making soup RR. Hope a good day at work. Think it’s next month you finish there?
Hope you feel a bit better today Camelot and stomach settles.Having cuppa in bed and reading through before getting up. Lovely!

Morning folks.Ruby - I hope that the new vet can help big pup. It's always a worry when pets are sick. After a calm, but very chilly day, the winds got high again overnight though it's all fairly quiet now. I only went out to the tip with the mountain of cardboard and paper then straight home. 😀 Once back home I lit the wood burner and roasted myself all afternoon. My smugness at not spending any money didn't long too as I ordered some seed potatoes online (Pink Fir) and then some gorgeous new bedding which I'd been debating about for ages. 🤭 As I've decided to not buy anything frivolous in February yesterday was my last chance so that tipped me over the indecision edge.JL phoned to tell me that my new sofas are provisionally due on February 25th so I need to alert the chap up the hill to remove the current ones nearer the time. I also got a text from TV guy, he's ordered my new one for the bedroom. When he comes with it is a mystery still.Today I have a delivery due, no idea when. The major couriers sub-contract to local companies so no 'one hour slots' here. All A*mazon stuff comes by Royal Mail which is great, in Glasgow the delivery could come up to 10pm, well past my bedtime. How's everyone doing? My thoughts are with our poorlies, Poppy - lovely to see your occasional postings. Marie - hope you're doing OK.
Happy Tuesday to all.13 -
Morning
Windy again last night and still this morning
Lot done yesterday all my planned jobs plus a few extras
It got so so cold in the afternoon I had to flick the heating on which is against my religion atm. More clothes on today in case it does the same.
Trust me to have planned a cold salad for dinner could really have done with a winter warmer.
Tonight is chilli and wraps which is more fitting for the weather. Going to have a go at sprout coleslaw today with some that need using up. I’ll report back success or failure. Cold seems to make me hungrier so to avoid the inevitable grazing on something sweet I’ll have a dippy egg and toast for brekky
The bedroom cupboard of doom is starting to look a lot more organised but I need to face up to a mountain of handbags and I mean Everest proportions. I was never a massive shoe collector thanks to my feet that resemble 2 bits of plaice so I switched my girly passion to handbags. I can foresee some problems getting rid but as I can only really use an over the body bag now then they are quite pointless
Managed to catch up with Trigger Point which I’m loving well worth a watch if you’ve not seen it
Hope you're both feeling better camelot and DP1 sounds like its not worth fighting it so relax and go with it
Have a good day all

Good morning all, thanks for the start nmlc x
Hope all the poorlies are doing okay, thinking especially of Camelot and dp1 plus Jackie’s Val. Poppy – lovely that you had a treat at the spa, what a nice gift.
I finished the application for the new job and now have to wait to see if I’m ‘sifted’ for interview. Closing date is 6 Feb, so we shall see. Took a look last night to see if there’s anything else out there – a couple to look into today. Had to minute a 1.5 hour meeting yesterday which wasn’t my subject area, and they just seemed to be tossing ideas around rather than making any decisions. Nearly fell asleep at one point – good job my camera was off. Time to go methinks.
Now there’s just 3 of us at home I’m hoping to shop from my freezer more this week instead of doing a full shop. Will have a rummage shortly to see what I can rustle up for tonight. I also have ironing to do and a friend is popping by after work to donate some wool. I’m making hats for the homeless which will be displayed as a tree in the church this Christmas (I know it sounds bonkers, but actually quite effective…).
Will walk pup at lunchtime and then have some hm soup and a roll for lunch. Thanks for the reminder Ruby.
Lovely makes Florence and such a good idea 😊
Enjoy your meet up TA x
Have a good day all

Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC, glad work wasn't too bad yesterday. It's wet and windy here but not too cold. We don't want another day like Saturday, that wind certainly did some damage.Camelot, hope you're picking up a bit.Tuesday again so it's your morning out TA, have a lovely lunch. I haven't spent that much in January either, and the freezer and cupboards are still well stocked.Hope the homeopathic vet can help big pup Ruby. You sound nice and cosy wmf, have a good day!We had an ok day yesterday, well I'm saying that, I spent ages on the phone sorting out an insurance renewal. It was in my name so I couldn't push the job off on to DH. Anyway it's done now for another year. Then spent time on the phone later trying to arrange a visit to D*bbies with some friends, still haven't managed it. I'm trying to get a whatsapp group going to sort this kind of thing, then it'll be much easier than me ringing people .I did try a new card idea though (the idea I had in the middle of the night Yorkslass!) It worked out well so I'm pleased. As I said yesterday, middle of the night ideas don't always work.Done nothing yet with that dress though, didn't have time, because Dgd was coming after school and I went out to meet her a bit early so I could have a quick look round the charity shops.Today, what does today have in store - nothing much. I want to go to The Wo*rks, to look at card trimmings, and it's the quiz tonight.Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of our poorly people, and those with relatives who aren't well.Take care folks.12

Morning all, yes still windy here too,it managed to lift the bbq cover off, which is big and quite heavy.Fortunately it was anchored by the folding chairs against the fence so can't complain, but struggled to get it back over as it was wet.I think we'll be having fajitas too tonight, I have some leftover chicken.DH dropped me at a sm when he was going an errand- luckily I only wanted a few bits as I was waylaid by someone I hadn't seen for about 15 years. I'd only picked up a loaf and 2 leeks before DH rang to say he was on his way back. Nice to see her though.Right better walk the dog, hope the day is good for you x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone!
I love the little bags for phones - what a great idea!
Gers - I hope your delivery comes sooner rather than later!
Not much to report from me - very much more of the same! I have hoovered round and disposed of some almost dead flowers! I've prepped a salad for lunch to have with some cajun chicken that I made at the weekend.
I am working from home today and have a few meetings so that will keep me busy!
I need to do my meal plan for the next few days and shopping list for tomorrow morning so I am just having a quick check on what we need. I am managing to keep the cost down but will need some meat this time.
Have a lovely day all
