Thanks for the thought Elona - but I can tell you now he won't want to listen.... his answer would probably be "a mars bar and a nag of crisps don't cost £6"

Yeah, not the same as what he originally said, I know!

If he intends to live on nothing but Mars bars and crisps then I hope that you have him well insured because he will either have a heart attack or a stroke .

You will need critical illness cover for him as well.

Hope he does not smoke as well or he is really taking his life in his hands.;)

Have always baked, not only for taste [grandchildren love to help every weekend and its a good way to introduce numeracy by counting out the ingredients] but it is so much cheaper [Christmas cakes have now been quietly getting drunk for the past month, OH opened the big enamel bread tin they are stored in the other day and said good job he wasnt driving as inhailing the fumes would put him over the limit]. Have also started using seasonal vegetables again. Always make my own pickles

My DD came home from school yesterday and said she'd had spaghetti bolognaise for lunch but it hadn't been very nice. Her friends all enjoyed it but DD said she's been spoilt because I make ours myself and my home-cooked is so much nicer!

Made me feel all warm and glowy! It's her 12th birthday today so I'm off to the kitchen to make her cake.
