Amazon only able to refund orders for non-receipt within 30 days?

Good afternoon,

Has anybody ever dealt with a similar issue, by any chance?

Having ordered my in-laws some Christmas presents back in December, I found that they never got them only a while ago. Apparently, the parcel was handed over to Airbnb'ing neighbours, who since have vanished. No instructions/consent was given to leave it with neighbours, or anywhere else.

Amazon customer service sincerely apologised and stated "We're only able to refund orders for non-receipt within 30 days of your delivery date." They refused to issue 'proof of delivery'. Alas, I was able to obtain 'PoD' from DPD (they delivered this Amazon Prime package), and it looks like this:

Can anything be done in such case? Are we completely out of luck because this happened in December, over 30 days ago?
Any advice is greatly appreciated  o:)

Did you order it from Amazon or Amazon Market place?

The vendor remains liable until they are delivered to the intended recipients however the PoD will almost certainly stop any chargeback.

If the order is from Amazon Marketplace then you need to pursue the vendor themselves as you maybe time blocked from Amazon's A-Z Guarantee thing for Marketplace orders.

According to order summary, Sold by: EBSL (VAT registered)
    Fulfilled by Amazon
Paid using Gift Card, guess chargeback is out of the question  :/

  • "For Fulfilled by Amazon orders, returns are handled by Amazon in compliance with the Amazon.co.uk Return Policy."

As you bought it from a third party you need to contact them (can be done via the Amazon website) and exercise your rights with them. You are outside of the window for Amazon to assist with the third party sale it would seem but that doesnt change your rights with the seller.
