Hello,
The wife and I are considering moving to Haslemere or Guildford from a small village.
What are your thoughts on both of these towns for a young family? Budget is in the £2 - 3m mark.
Thanks

It depends what is important to you e.g. fast connectivity to London, rural feel etc. personally Guildford feels too much like an extension of London to me, I’d choose Haslemere every time, but if I had to go back to commuting 5 days a week that answer might change!2

A friend of mine and his family lived in Haslemere for a few yesrs , and I liked it when I as there . He works in London and commutes. I think he has to change at Woking to get into Waterloo . Can be busy .I don't know Guildford too well and I may be wrong , but it may be a fair bit busier than Haslemere .1

Thanks for your responses so far. House prices still seem to be rising rapidly in the area, so this also is informing our selection.
Godalming seems to have more choice, but seems a bit chavvy0
