Why is it so impossible to get a quote online without giving over all your contact details including phone number? This is for international movers but frankly is applies for anything nowadays..
The say "online quote calculator" but you have to give all your details to receive the results!
Just approximate costs would be nice based on where to and from and volume in square metres. It seems to be impossible.

Why provide information for free to people who aren't potentially going to use your services?0

I've been having this exact same issue and it's so frustrating. I give companies all the information they need in the comments section in online inquiries and either they don't read it or just send an automated email asking me to call them for the quote. It's the same for everyone, movers, plumbers and electricians etc. At least they should be able to give a general estimate then if that looks good I'd be happy to call them to get the final figure. At which point the estimate figure would be topped up a fair bit for no specific reason.0

Never mind plumbers and movers, my bank advertises all sorts of services via the web or mobile app that just result in being told to phone them. Whats the flipping point then? I wouldn't mind so much if anyone ever answered the phone!0

You can get a disposable email address from mailinator.com.It's a bit like the Room of Requirements as it's only there when you're using it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

I despise interacting with these people over the phone since they frequently try to get me to make a quick decision. They keep trying until I warn them I'm going to hang up if they do it again, which I never do. Before approaching these service providers directly, I would usually ask friends who have had similar experiences or post in a related forum. I don't like giving out my personal information to someone I haven't met before. When I needed to relocate as part of my job, I contacted my colleagues for recommendations for reputable international movers. I'm well aware that salespeople deceive. When I first started in the industry, I would occasionally be duped by a salesperson who would simply lie about pricing, functionality, or whatever else. Every vendor now provides me with a written contract. It's reduced the nonsense.-1

I have had the opposite effect - I’ve contacted 2 x fencing companies for a rough quote for new fence panels in the back garden and neither have responded at all!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £30,358.130

We are trying to find a new plasterer to skim a bedroom after the one we had booked broke his hand, managed to get one eventually but had to contact several of them to even get someone to quote.
Also needs two radiators moving and speaking to a younger plumber, you could see he wasn't interested because it was an older gravity fed system and if something went wrong, he just couldn't be bothered to even try. Kept saying....if this goes wrong or that goes wrong etc etc. Clearly wants to work on newer properties where things just work.
