Pest control (mice) - worried I did something stupid

Woke up to scrabbling noise this morning, noticed there is a gap between skirting board and carpet and that some carpet looks gnawed. I have called landlord and let them know - we had a mouse problem in this block of flats a couple months ago so presumably some escaped the pest control guy.
However in a moment of frustration I slid a sachet of poison under the wall before stuffing the gap with foil - I'm a bit stressed now because in retrospect I am worried I have done something dangerous/illegal. It might be hard to get it back out. Should I be worried?

The only thing to worry about is a mouse eating the poison, running away, and dying in an inaccessible location. The corpse may well smell for a bit as it rots down or desiccates.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -

Are you sure you haven't trapped it in the room?
I'd keep a trap out for a few nights.1
