Morning
Really windy here today (the weather not me)
Last night was “Friday night is pie night” ….steak and kidney with tons of gravy, was meant to be with mash but extreme slothness kicked in and I had chips and peas instead. Obvs ate it all so no freezer returns again. Tonight is another easy one a fish finger butty with my own tartar and a huge salad. Had got into the bad habit of getting prepared salad stuff in the delivery due to difficulty chopping but this week I really took notice of those price rises and did some comparisons so it all up to me to prepare now. Example 46p for a big iceberg lettuce compared to 60p for a bag of shredded lettuce which was 30p 2 weeks ago and only lasts me 2 days (I like lettuce!) The full lettuce should last the week. The only thing I wont compromise on is big bags of chopped onion. I use loads so its worth it for me right now.
Just the one volunteer call today, a couple of bin runs and the obligatory kitchen tidy. Also want to start clearing out some shelves in my wardrobe it will be another slow job but I want to at least make a start so maybe one shelf a day.
Camelot see your isolation as an opportunity for some real “you” time as long as its asymptomatic of course. Bet there’s some books you want to read, films you want to watch, nails you want to paint, facemasks you want use…and lots more.
NRA sending virtual hugs hope you’re taking care of yourself too
Jackie All the best to Val

Morning folks. Thanks for starting us Scarlet. There's a right storm raging outside, the wind started last night and got worse overnight. We have a yellow weather warning for high winds all day for Storm Malik which is heading towards Denmark. There's an amber weather warning out for the east coast. It's definitely time to stay firmly indoors until the storm passes over. I wonder if the work done by SSE to strengthen the power infrastructure will hold up. Already the back garden is a right mess.Yesterday my day was quietly nice. New battery for Gtech arrived though delivery man had no instructions about taking back the faulty one but took it anyway. The main companies sub-contract to local ones so sometimes things are rather wonky.Had a slight blip when I booked an hotel room for next week and later saw that I had booked it for that night instead. 😱 Luckily, a quick phone call sorted that but I felt foolish for a wee while. My fridge is full and I brought a pile of logs in yesterday so I'm set for a day of being cosy and enforced slothfulness. 😀
Keep safe and warm. Thoughts to all our poorlies. Happy Saturday to everyone.13 -

Scarlett - thanks for starting us off x
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, air is cold.- got that bit wrong! It's now light.
DH watching catchup tv and DS1 still in his pit., I'm showered and dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken, chips and beans for the menfolk. I had fishcakes and veg. Tonight may be a cheeky takeaway - DH and I have our booster jabs this afternoon, so will depend on how I'm feeling if we want food but I don't want to cook it'll be takeaway.
Yesterday I was productive and got done what I wanted expected getting a birthday prezzie for mum in law, but I'll get this morning with a card - just will get smellies.- not the easiest of people to buy for as she doesn't really have any hobbies/interests, moans if you buy chocs, doesn't try different food etc.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Really, really windy out this morning, would have loved to have gone for a swim in the lock but alas I'm confined to the house! I've been awake for hours but have been lounging about in bed drinking tea and and having a nose about here.
I did have to get up to answer the door to the postman - some beautiful flowers from the lovely Gers, thank you, they have cheered me up no end.
Nelski - I fully intend to do all the above!
Glad you can spend time with your DDad NRA.
Hope Val is recovering Jackie.
Right, time to do nothing, take care. XX12 -
Morning all
Its a bit overcast here today but no rain so far, OH has gone to the boot sale and dd is at her young mans so all peaceful here for now.
OH has his work clothes in the wm and I have a towel load to do after, we will do the house work this morning too, one of us does upstairs and one down, I usually do downstairs as I am fussy with the kitchen and like it to be sparkling, I cleaned the fridge out last week and there has been a funny smell in there since, I discovered that OH had put a jar of gerkins on their side and all the liquid had leaked outso it will need cleaning again today !
We have to pick OH car up from the garage so I will drop him off there later, then I expect he will take the dogs to the beach afterwards.
Dinner tonight is scampi chips and peas might try and make my own tartar sauce al la Nels, it must be nicer than shop bought, although I now fancy your fish finger SW Nels, is there enough for one more ???
Camelot sorry to hear you have the lurgy, enjoy your forced time at home though, and I hope your symptoms are mild xxx

Morning everyone
Had a nice chat with eldest DD in Germany before I got up to make my breakfast and feed the cats - I brought breakfast back up to bed so am nice and cosy. She was in Munich for work yesterday and is going out for brunch with friends later - she's really enjoying life just now.
There's been a terrible wind blowing all night here - the bins are at the bottom of the garden and the shed keeps lifting off the ground. The fencing as all still lying in the garden from the last storm - it was bouncing up and down and making a right racket. I have asked the housing association to move it onto the grass next to my garden - but it hasn't happened yet.
Camelot - hope you continue to feel ok. I was ready to feel bored but felt ill instead! I hope you stick with bored.
DD brought little one to visit for a little while yesterday - she sat on my knee and cuddled for ages. Long chat about how I gave her Covid germs and she had to go to hospital! DD has just told her I still have it as it's easier for her to understand why I'm still ill - whereas she is bouncing about like she's on springs!
Jackie - hope you have good news regarding Val today
I'm going to sort my bank then get up.
Hope everyone has a good day take care x11 -
Good morning all
I hope everyone with stormy weather stays safe - it's windy here but bright.
I have been to the supermarket and popped to B&M - was very pleased with myself that I literally only got what was on my list from both places so am staying under budget!
My cold is still with me - I have upped my medication from paracetamol to sudafed to see if that helps! I'm keeping busy so that I don't just sit feeling sorry for myself.
At the moment I am cooking a couple of meals for the fridge so they are ready for the week and I am about to do the ironing. I have put the ironing board up but then made the mistake of sitting down!
As I was very productive last weekend and during this week, I can take some time to rest this weekend so will busy myself in the mornings with my chores and then rest later in the day.
My thoughts are with everyone who has covid related worries or any other worries - let's hope we turn the corner soon.
x
