Ticketmaster re-sale but no payment!

Hi, I bought a pair of Ed Sheeran tickets off Ticketmaster for June 2022. Unfortunately, we are unable to make the date so I re-sold them back to Ticketmaster. They sold immediately on the 12th of December. I received an email to say congratulations you've sold your ticket, no need to do anything we will refund you within 12-15 working days!! it's now 26th January 2022 and I've still not received any payment.
All the bank details are correct, cannot get a response to the 9 emails I've sent and no contact number available.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how I can claim/ retrieve my £160 back please.

Many thanks in advance

I didn’t think Ed Sheehan allowed the resell/re issue of tickets.

the t and c do say if they can’t reissue  the tickets you won’t get paid until after the event has taken place..they also say they will let you know if that is the case, so either way you should either of had your money or an explanation as to why not

Have you given them enough time to respond to your emails

Ed Sheeran is the artist who kicked off big style a few years ago over resold tickets.
They checked all tickets going into his events. Anyone with a resold ticket was refused entry & had to buy another ticket direct from them & try to claim the money back from where they bought them from. This was to highlight places like Viagogo & their policies.

Indeed, Ed Sheeran does not allow ticket reselling through the likes of Viagogo which he considers (rightly in my opinion) to be exploitative and unethical.
With Ed Sheeran's full approval Ticketmaster operate their Ticket Exchange market which is a marketplace to enable sellers to sell their tickets at face value or less directly to potential buyers. Ticketmaster do not themselves have contact with the tickets or the money which is processed through a separate company called Adyen MarketPay.
Adyen take payment from the potential buyer then appear to hold the money in escrow until the event has taken place.
    • 7. PAYMENT TO SELLERS
    • 7.1 Payment to you of any Resale Ticket proceeds shall be made via Adyen MarketPay in accordance with Adyen's Terms and Conditions, usually within 10 business days of the event to which the Resale Tickets relate taking place.

Payment is not made back to the original payment method but to an authorised Adyen account which the seller must set up separately

    • (j) You will require an Adyen MarketPay account in order to receive payment for any Resale Tickets you sell and therefore agree to be bound by Adyen's Terms and Conditions and appoint us as your authorised representative in relation to Adyen.

The T&Cs are set out here: https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/legal/Ticket-Exchange-Policy.html

    They are very, very complex!

niac, have you checked your Adyen account? I think if you check carefully they say they will refund you within 12-15 days of the event taking place.

This is off Ticketmaster. I am in a similar situation, I accidentally bought two extra tickets on when i was ordering in the panic to get them quickly knowing it would be a sell out i had selected 6 tickets not the 4 i needed. I am now £200 short nad have listed them for sale.

When i contacted them this was there reply to me. It's an automated response but if the event has now happened i think contacting Adyen would be your best option.

If they can be reissued - we’ll email you to confirm and then process your early payment, usually within the following 10-12 working days. The payment can then take up to 3-5 working days from then to show in your account and will come from Adyen, our payment provider.

If they cannot be reissued - we’ll let you know that’s the case by email and confirm the next steps. You can expect to receive payment within 10 working days of the event taking place. The payment can then take up to 3-5 working days from then to show in your account and will come from Adyen.

When you list tickets for sale you are asked to input your bank account details where payment can be made.  We can't make payment to a credit or debit card, or by any other means.

If your bank account details have changed you can log in to your account to update these: just click on “My Profile” & “Seller Details” to view your information. If you want to make any changes or to view your details in full, just click ‘Edit’ and you’ll be taken to the payment information page to update your details and bank account information.

The name and address you give us must match that of the bank account you provide, as we can't pay into another persons account.

Metallica went down this route a few years ago.  First night was at the O2 Arena.  They had staff cross checking tickets to ID etc.  By the third song in, the queue was still out of the main doors and people a little bit 'cross' to be missing it.
Unsurprisingly, this was not enforced in Manchester the following evening.

None of which affects OP obviously.  I admire them for taking the stand they do, as long as it works on the ground.
