The tiny silver moths are clothes moths, you may start to see holes in linens and clothes not worn and hung away unused and undisturbed for ages - I had them, and mould, from filling wardrobes to the hilt and closing the doors and never going near for yearsDoes that sound like you? Have stuff stored and undisturbed? If so Im afraid you are in for a bit of work, Sort out the cupboard/chest of drawers whatever, everything needs to be washed and dried and then pack away in air tight bags. , you know those vac ones? Cedar is supposed to repell them so are bags of herbs - lavender/rosemary etc . I scrubbed out the insides of my wardrobes making sure I got into all the cracks , got rid of a lot of stuff, washed and dried what I was keeping, and then vac packed the bits I knew I wouldn't be wearing a while, leaving only my every day stuff hanging or in the drawers , stuff thats getting regularly washed6

With moths, anything that can’t be washed and dried (as hot as possible) should be frozen. You may need to treat carpets, particularly if they show signs of being chewed. Vacuum curtains (ideal get them cleaned if you can, or freeze for 24 hours). It’s worth investing in pheromone traps to stop them breeding.9

Hmmmm. Thank you for the advice. I had a bit of an infestation in our dining room curtains which I’ve got rid of by washing.Think I’ll have a chat with our farm pest co tell guy about treating the carpets as they’re my suspect over the wardrobe now.7

It could be carpet beetle rather than moths. We had those several years ago but can't remember what they looked like but knew we had them as the edges of the carpet had been eaten! We got some stuff to get rid of them from Amazon which did the trick but as I say it was a long time ago so can't remember what it was!7

We had a patch of carpet about 3 inches square eaten by moths right down to the backing. It was under a heavy armchair which I only move about once a month as it is very heavy. I used this from Amazon.
Pest Expert Carpet Moth Killer Spray Treatment 2 x 1Ltr - Formula 'C+' Advanced Moth Spray (UK Government HSE approved and tested – professional strength for amateur use)
It was was easy to use just a fine mist spray that did not wet the carpet. I moved all the furniture and did it all. There was no smell from it either, I have not seen any since.9 -
It's amazing how you can get moths. We kept seeing them in our lounge in the evening. It turned out they were getting through a small central heating pipe hole coming from the kitchen, and were hatching out from an opened packet of dried porcini mushrooms I'd brought back from Italy. Won't be doing that again! Got rid of the packet and eventually they stopped appearing.

Cynic in me says that Lincolnshire county council have highlighted this now because many residents are not that keen on wasting (yet more) money on a mayor/ devolution & to create yet another layer of bureaucracy.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Yet another NSD today making it 2/14. Only one small few bits to buy on Monday and thats me done for the rest of this year Came in so far well under December budget so surplus cash goes into my Happy Cash Stash for treat. will start the New Year when I come home on 2nd January as I will be away from 23rd December until then.
I really only have a couple of bits to get and hopefully around about £7.00 odd on Monday so not even my normal monthly budget will have been spent Eating out of the cupboards and freezer is working out really well. I found some more bits rooting through the top cupboards this morning (shh I was standing on a stool ,but I daren't let DDs know or they would complain)but I was very careful all the same and found a bit more to put on the kitchen worktop to use up.
I even took 250 gms of unsalted block of butter from the freezer and used it up in my baking today so a bit more wriggle room in there. I made some biscuits and some shortbread with it. DGS Ben enjoyed his biscuits as he is rather partial to HM ones
I also have some for my eldest DD as she is coming tomorrow morning for a coffee.
The food mountain of frozen stuff and tinned stuff is slowly getting less at last. Its been some unusual meals but I don't mind as I will eat virtually anything edible and hate waste I needed to make some room for some of the special offers on veg that will start this week. Soup making is a definite at some point this week and freezing in pouches for the cold days of January that will no doubt come
Onwards and upwards chums
