@YorksLass They are quite different to shop bought oatcakes, a little soft in the centre, though I suppose you could get round that by blitzing the grain up more and making them a little thinner. I'm going to have another go tomorrow and will report back any tweaks I make. I've got a nice jar of marmalade that I've been gifted that I want to test out with them.

I received my council tax bill yesterday addressed to 'The Estate of in-my-wellies Deceased' and a form for a new Direct Debit
Not sure what to make of that. They are still expecting me to payLove living in a village in the country side5 -
Hello everyone
Oh God! Are the council tax bills due? I had some spare cash last week and went to the post office to put it on my council tax bill, knowing I've now overpaid but wanting to knock down the monthly payments of the new bill, I hope I did that in time?
Question for you allGroupon. Is this okay to use? Someone gave me a link to buy Photoshop which I need to resubscribe to. The price with Groupon is £84 compared to £119 without any offers applied. I've not used Groupon before and I'm not sure how safe it is.
I've finished work this morning and gone to the local Spar to pick up my favourate crisps, 'Transformers'. Noted the price has gone up on one flavour, 'Great Value' 39p to 'Great Value' 50p. Couldn't help notice the weight on the expensive product is now 3g less too. Oh well, neverming, 'Space Raiders' are cheaper and taste the same!Sealed Pot Challenge 15 #78

We have a bit of a glut of potatoes, some more came with the To Good To Go.
I refuse to waste them so as a last resort I shall bury some. They will increase in number and come back to haunt me later in the year, no doubt!9 -
Just got back from my bone scan. I will be eating out of the freezer and store cupboard for the next week my 9 min taxi journey to the hospital cost me £17. I came back home by bus even though it was chucking it down with rain and took nearly an hour.8

I always have several portions of home-made mash in the freezer.
A chef on This Morning earlier this week made what she called Irish Stew with potato dumplings.
It had beef and shallots in and stout or red wine.
And dark chocloate.
Really?
I always thought Irish Stew was made with lamb and had carrots in.
I'm sure Longwalker can put us straight.
I used to cook Irish stew in my slow cooker when first married and used to buy neck of lamb (with bones in).
The potato dumplings sounded really nice though.

Yes, I’m from Northern Ireland and never beef-that was for the rich. Potatoes, carrots, some parsley and then the lamb. To be honest in the past it was made with lamb bones then as people got wealthier , probably in the 1950’s cheap cuts , neck or breast. When my granny made it the lamb was just flakes of meat and we ate it in bowls all mashed up. We weren’t badly off, that was just the way it was made.It follows the rule that the meat was the smallest portion on the plate and we’re back to the lean years now.10
