I Get the co op honest value oats 1.50 for 1kg, I was thinking the other day that I am sure our water is getting harder as so much lime scale everywhere but thought it was Just me. I am too scared to use white vinegar in DW but I am happy to chuck a load of baking powder in there.21k savings no debt6

Aldi's porridge oats are our favourite, 1kg for 70p. Been buying these for ages now after two bad bags of oats from Lidl... the first bag had loads of husks and in the second, and last ever, bag I found something that looked exactly like a mouse dropping. 😱7

Anybody intending to use the NW debit card deal - read the long thread on the banking board. The deal is only for 3 months (or until a specific figure is reached) and one of the exclusions is online supermarket orders
Pretty sure the Nationwide link itself gave the limit on the time and mentioned the exclusion of delivery orders - I noted the first but always do my shopping myself so the second part wasn’t relevant to me.Floss said:EssexHebridean said:Any other Nationwide customers out there spotted the cashback deal for buying groceries using their debit card?

I buy the standard cheapest available for general use in cooking etc - I do like the jumbo ones for porridge though! pretty sure I have a box of Jordans on the go currently which were on some form of decent special offer last time I needed them! That's quite the price increase for the rip-off ones though - it wasn't that long ago I last bought!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Grocery delivery arrived, one sub (acceptable and will be refunded the extra 50p) and one short dated (destined for freezer anyway so that was OK). There's some meat products needing portioning up before freezing but that can wait until tomorrow. I've about 1/3 of this month's grocery budget left and, given that I'll only need milk, F&V and salad until the end of the month, I'm aiming to add whatever's left to my squirrel fund.
I used to use Mornflake Superfast oats (£1.18 for 1 kg) but changed to Daily's oats (70p for 1kg). These are rolled wholegrain and, although not jumbo, I find them perfectly acceptable for porridge and baking. DH doesn't like porridge so I've only myself to please.
Cottage pie for tea tonight with swede and pickled red cabbage. A batch of fruit scones will fill up the space and I'll use the cooling oven to dry out some bread crusts that I'll crush tomorrow so I can refill my jar of coating bread crumbs.Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -

I fell into that trap- online deliveries are included - from the supermarket, but not from a third party. You really have to read the small print!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
