Bluegreen143 said:There’s an Oxfam bookshop near here and it has a lovely selection but the normal paperback books are £3-4 each. I have no idea why but it’s always busy. All the other charity shops sell paperbacks for about £1 round here, yes the Oxfam one has a much better selection and I can understand unusual/rare/academic books having a higher price but for fiction paperbacks… you can often get them new as cheap as that.
We have an Oxfam bookshop in our town, and I think where it scores above other shops is having books sorted into types and filed alphabetically by author, so it's more like an ordinary bookshop. Most other charities which have books, they seem to be a jumbled mishmash making it more difficult to see what they've actually got.

I hate it when charity shops don't sort books into alphabetical order. Having worked in an Oxfam bookshop for nearly 30 years I long to sort out the book shelves in other charity shops. It really doesn't take long to put books in alphabetical order and once it's done it's done.9

Looks pretty but it takes a ridiculous amount of time to sort through and find your size. I did ask someone once why they did that and they said it was orders from head office.
Which probably means that head office have told them to do it by colour and they CBA sorting into sizes within that. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.11 -

Even if just A, B, C etc, it's much easier to navigate than a completely random mess.YoungBlueEyes said:Mmmm fishfinger sandwiches with salad cream. Yum.💙💛 💔9 -
I am happy that my husband is getting paid tomorrow as it has been a very expensive month with the roof issues we have had. I checked our bank account and we are getting the £67 put in from Ovo.6

Another freezer tea tonight - beef casserole with mash and cabbage. I was going to make some dumplings to go with it, but there's quite enough there and I don't really want yet more leftovers to deal with.
Have done a bit of ironing, only pillowcases, so nice and easy. I'm not an ironing person but do like to have my pillowcases ironed, even though I know they'll soon be mussed up. I've also sorted out a few items for the SA clothing bank that I'll take tomorrow when I go to the Co-op. I hope they have some fresh cod in since I have a 50p MOC to use against it. If not, Friday's tea will have to be revised.Rubbish also put out ready for tomorrow's collection. I couldn't remember whether it was recyclables or general waste so have done both.
This month's £67 from energy supplier has been applied to our account so our credit looks respectable again. Not looking forward to April when that stops but hopefully it will be a little warmer and the heating won't be needed quite as much.
My daffs outside are about 4" high now and I'm looking forward to seeing them flower. I'm also on the look out for a pot of mini ones for the kitchen window ledge (my winter treat to myself) - they always cheer me up, especially when the weather isn't great.Be kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
@YorksLass our daffodils are at full height and one is already out and a few more are on the verge. Just down the road they are coming out in force.9

@flipflopflo - Love the pics and the Sunny Corner sign.
Sunny and dry here but still quite chilly. Weekly trip to the Co-op today; success on the fish front so that's Friday's tea sorted and also bagged a ys swede that will go nicely with some carrots. Dropped off the SA donations and also soft plastics while I was there. Bins have been emptied - it was general waste week but our recyclable ones have been done as well. We have large communal bins but, sadly, everything seems to go in the one wagon. I sometimes wonder why I bother separating my rubbish.
Another freezer tea tonight - turkey burgers, saute LO potatoes and side salad, and I've chilli defrosting for tomorrow.
Credit card statement arrived this morning - clear, nothing to pay. Woohoo.Be kind to others and to yourself too.11
