The best time was when I got on to a packed tube train in London and got my water bottle out to drink and then the lid just completely came off and I poured water all over my face and top. I don't know how people didn't laugh. I would have laughed if I had seen that! Lol.Spendless said:Wednesday2000 said:Every reusable water bottle I have ever bought has leaked. Very annoying!
Yes, hence me asking. From the time the kids grew too old (or believed they were too 'cool ' - so once they went to Secondary school ) to take a rucksack to school that had a separate bottle holder on the outside and instead had bags where you put the bottle inside the bag, I never found one that didn't leak - which would be all over their books/work, so couldn't risk it continuing to happen.Wednesday2000 said:Every reusable water bottle I have ever bought has leaked. I'm going to give some of these suggestions a go though4 -
I do this with my metal one (a branded gift from a major event I worked last year) and it works a treat.KxMx said:
A few spoons of baking soda plus some hot water, leave with lid on for a few hours then rinse with clean water.newlywed said:I haven’t had water bottles leak… but some smell a bit odd after a while. Some sterlizer tablets help - like the ones used for baby bottles.
I use refillable because when out walking there is often a refill point at farms or hostels for walkers, for free. Plus there’s an app called refill that shows where in the near area you can refill your water for free at pubs, cafes, libraries etc. Always a bonus to get free water refills. There’s quite a lot of places in my city
I do this every few months, works a treat.
I think they retailed at €30-ish, so definitely not something I want to throw away/stop using, especially as it keeps water cold through the day if put in the fridge overnight.💙💛 💔5 -
I have had couple of re-usable water bottles for several years now both picked up cheap when the local kitchen wear shop closed down.
The sistema is small enough to fit into my handbag and has never (fingers crossed) leaked

the other is a Built similar to this although I paid £5 or £6 for it, they are sometimes in TK XX It will keep liquid hot or chilled most of the day, I used it when walking as it fits nicely in my small rucksack it also has never leaked.

This happened to me a few weeks ago while on the bus,it was really hot so I decided to have a drink while the bus was moving which is never a good idea, the driver slammed his brakes on and I ended up with half a bottle of water all over my face and chest , luckily I was sitting at the back so no one noticed but I did have a little laugh at myself 😂Wednesday2000 said:

I went into L1d1 today. I bought 2 of the £1.50 fruit and veg boxes. One for me and one for a friend that I was visiting. I asked if it would be alright to buy 2 and was told that it was OK. There were about 8 left so plenty for others. There was so much stuff that we shared it with her daughter and daughter in law. So pleased because £3.00 has helped to feed 4 families for the week. I have just frozen 3 big boxes of raspberries and 2 boxes of blackberries. The rest has been incorporated into my meal plans and there's nothing that will be wasted. It has helped us to offset other price rises. I wouldn't have known about these boxes if it wasn't for info sharing on this thread (and others). A big thank you to everyone.15

Well I did try with the teen re the water bottle, I got the following response ....'I want a Love Island one'. Wonder if she'll be as keen if I tell her to buy it out of her wages. Maybe it will amaze me and I'll rave about it!!!3

I use the systema bottle as well. Added bonus that it’s freezable so I take it out frozen on hot days and it’s still cold to drink at lunchtime. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
