A plea from the BPA

Just the same old spouting from both sides of the debate. I'll leave it to Central Government to decide upon the way forward.Coupon-mad said:Where's @Thrugelmir and @AnotherForumite when a relevant thread calls?0 -
We now know what they meant ... it's the motorist that has the money to support the scamUmkomaas said:Codes of practice and even to an extent POPLA are all lipstick on a pig, there to give an air of fake responsibility - while they can be use to help overturning some parking charge notices, scratch the surface and underneath it is the BPA there to help its members make money. The BPA mantra at one time used to include the phrase, 'putting the motorist at the heart of our thinking'. Seems to have disappeared.Funny that.1 -
Sadly, supermarkets and landowners were sold a pup with this "stopping abuse" rubbishSnakes_Belly said:
I don't know why supermarkets employ PPC's. They could easily manage it themselves.
I've just ordered a new smart TV online which is being delivered tomorrow.
We no longer have to drive somewhere, waste petrol, face traffic jams, and run the gauntlet with parking scammers, maybe catch covid etc etc.
All the supermarkets deliver anyway.
I do agree with the BPA on one point ..... many of their membes will go bust and in the end, so will the BPA2 -

Considering Gove is fully bought into the lies of his master, I doubt he is able to tell truth from lies himself.patient_dream said:What the BPA say, they must prove now about the rubbish £19.5 billion that will affect the UK economy ?
Could this fabrication be of concern to Mr Gove MP ????2 -
Me too. Happy to hear that you will adhere to whatever they decide.Thrugelmir said:

@Half_way - "However the BPA is not a regulatory authority ( somewhere someone has this in writing from them - if this response could be found it would be useful) and it is not there the look after the motorist."This any help - per the bpa website:-"What don’t we do?We are a membership association and not a regulatory body. This means that whilst we will address any concerns raised about our members’ working practices, we do not have the resource to deal with complaints about individual enforcement notices."5

So they loosely admit parking companies are completely unaccountable and are allowed to act with impunity! They have the power to publicly chastise, name & shame operators who abuse their CoP etc BUT CHOOSE NOT TO. They could kick out these members - but WON'T because they'll take their cash to IPC like SRS did when he got butt hurt about losing too many POPLA appeals. Losing big hitters like Excel/ VCS must have hurt BPA's pocket. The only good thing about CoP is you can show Judges how they breached it themselves despite actively pursuing you for allegedly breaching the "rules". Its q good tool to highlight the PPCs and Industry's inconsistency! So why are the DVLA allowing this!? (Again turning a blind eye for cash which is why they are being sued!!!)1505grandad said:per the bpa website:-"What don’t we do?We are a membership association and not a regulatory body. Indeed, the BPA is a simple members club so what legal right do they have to tell their members to add fake charges ??
It is because of the BPA and their complete lack of control that the new code of practice will come into force. They only have themselves to blame and are now bleating. The BPA are a badly run set up
As far as SRS goes, being a member of the IPC will very soon be pointless as the support from IAS will die a death
If the new appeals service operates like the TPT, it will create a lot of tears in the parking industry3 -
