ordering item online, how long do you have to advise if any parts missing or damaged?

Hi, wondering if someone can help with this query?
I am going to order a Keter plastic shed online as I can't find a local retailer to purchase it from in person. I have sourced it on ebay from a building supplies company rather than an individual selling an unwanted item. I did send a message to the seller and they said depending on what the issue is it would be them that would resolve it.
I have arranged for a landscaper to put the shed together for me when they are also laying the base and a path for me BUT at the moment do not have a fixed date. Might be into March before the work is done.
Can anyone advise on what a reasonable period of time would be to have something delivered then notify the retailer if there is any issue with the item, ie parts missing or damaged. I have read previously of people only finding out issues when putting the shed together.
I would like to purchase the shed sooner than later to ensure I do not miss out on this item but am worried in case I cause myself future problems. The item in question does have a 15 year manufacturer guarantee

Within 30 days you can reject the goods and get a full refund.
After 30 days and before 6 months its assumed the issue existed from the beginning unless the retailer can prove otherwise but it is their choice if to repair, replace or refund.
After 6 months it is your obligation to prove the issue existed from the beginning and the retailer still gets the choice of repair, replace or refund but now they can reduce the refund to reflect the use you've had from the item to date.
Contract law limits any claims to 6 years (or 5 in scotland)1 -
Thanks for that clear advice. It is one of those things that I don't want to open up the package until the person putting it together is ready and they can check it at the time. fingers crossed all goes well and there will be no issues.0

Sheds don't normally come in packaging as such. It'll be a pile wood "bits" and a few bags of fittings and instructions.

Boxed up plastic shed but don't want to have all the bits lying around just to open the box to see it is all there. Have heard on people having issues (and have had this myself on put together furniture) that perhaps something is damaged or a piece is faulty.
thanks for your input0 -
Homebase do Keter sheds and storage boxes. Can you check your nearest store to see if they can still get them and find out delivery lead times?
