Well, I suspect there's a fair number of Economy 7 users with smart meters who would very much agree with that verdict!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
Balance as at 01/09/23 = £115,000.00 Balance as at 31/12/23 = £112,000.00
Balance as at 31/08/24 = £105,400.00 Balance as at 31/12/24 = £102,500.00

They are no longer refunding the credit balances, they are keeping them. Just another lie, this government seems to have made lying totally acceptable, which I am sure shouldn't be any great surprise.

So I was due to apply for the Home Warm Discount with Pure Planet but then they started transferring in Oct so when the time came to apply online, I was unable to apply with them. I was told to wait until the transfer had completed then apply through Shell. Transfer went through at the end of Jan and when I went to apply on Shells website, it told me it had closed its applications for this winter already! I contacted Shell and was told there was nothing they could do as this was a government payment. So now I am £140 down which I was hoping for. Don’t see how this is fair as I would of applied on time if I had the option! Any advice would be appreciated please Martin Lewis and team?!Kind Regards

I have recently written to British Gas in respect of my long overdue refund for the credit on my PFP Energy account, which was originally expected to be paid towards the end of 2021.
My last contact with British Gas on this, was a text message received on 25 January 2022, asking for patience on this matter, but having heard nothing since I wrote a letter to British Gas - amazingly in this day and age, this seemed the least time consuming way of making contact.
I have now received a reply stating that they will refund me the £100 credit due from my PFP energy account. They stated that for closed accounts (presumably with British Gas because we soon switched from them), they do not send out refunds after a while because of 'security reasons'
I wonder how much credit they are sitting on from people who have forgotten or cannot find time to chase? Disgusting!
