Investec Bank

As a director of a Ltd company, I have used this bank in the past to invest in a Business Savings account. 
When the rate dropped I closed the account (as most people would do).. 
I made an application online for a 32 day business savings account this week and got rejected. On enquiring as to why (as all the reasons they offered on screen were not correct) I was told by the Manager of Customer Services that as I had held an account with them in the past and closed it, their computer system cannot accept the same directors opening up another account!!! It seems that it has been that way for a while! I asked the Manager if she would give me her CEO's email address as I wanted to bring this strange rule to her attention and she refused to give it. I don't think that Investec are very welcoming ! 
Will now invest my companies money with another Bank/Building Society that operates more professionally. Not impressed!!!

This would be a business decision on behalf of Investec, and they are entitled to decide whether they want you as a customer or not..

I have never heard of this clause being used, but it's possible it may be, especially as Investec are a specialist bank.

You can attempt to appeal to their better nature, but you don't have a right to be their customer.

I don't think Investec are showing themselves in a good light by doing this, I think you have missed the point! 
If  a 'specialist Bank want  Companies to open their  accounts, they need to bring their software in line with other Banks and Building Societies!!
