DRO ....

Options
Helping a lady seeking a DRO, she rang Quality Insolvency Services before asking me and im not sure they do the DRO referral or just try selling an IVA service?

She fits the profile for a DRO regards debts/income/assets but they got a bit shirty with her demanding 3 months bank statements (she has no bank, her brother lets her use his bank and card) - bank shut her down due to debts, they want payslips for 3 months, shes not working, shes only got the state pension, she lives with her husband but all these debts (£18,000 worth) are hers alone in her name.

Does this company sell IVA's or handle DRO applications?

Ive told her to ignore their calls

They are a Debt management company, well a lead generator more than likely.

The only solution they offer which they get paid for is an IVA, so it doesn't take a genius to work out what they are going to try and sell you.

If its a DRO she is after, she is better applying directly to an intermediary such as Stepchange or CAB.

She went via Stepchange today, i must say it was a very easy process as she had all her figures to hand

    Update...lol

    1. She is the registered V5 keeper of a car her son bought (for himself), only because he lost his licence for 6 months and she insured it so had to be on the logbook, is the car at risk?

    2. She only recently ceased self employment, will she need her last tax returns (20-21 just submitted, nil tax to pay)

    cheers

How much is the car worth?
A lot but the bill of sale shows its her sons legally (as the V5 says "the registered keeper may not be the legal owner" and she has no right to sell or dispose of it (which Stepchange told her it seems)

As above, Parkers guide is used for all valuations, usually the lowest figure is the one they go with.

all in hand, the car will be transferred to her son (the owner/purchaser) in 8 weeks, 8 weeks later she will apply for her DRO with the bill of sale showing her son paid for it...
