PIP application & decision time?

Seems she was completely mixed up and thought it was PIP but her son has confirmed it was Attendance Allowance. She did have a telephone assessment (or at least an interview by phone) as her son said she was quite upset by what they said to her so he took over he call.
Anyway at least my brother knows he is in for a long wait now.
Thank you all.0 -
May have had a call to check some details but it would not have been an assessment in the same sense as for PIP.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Completely missed that! They wouldn’t have had a telephone assessment either as AA doesn’t have an assessment process of that kind.poppy12345 said:turnitround said:However, my next door neighbour put in for PIP at the end of Nov last year and it took 7 weeks from start to finish
That would not have been PIP it would have been Attendance Allowance. Those of State pension age are unable to claim PIP.turnitround said:The neighbour I referred to was not terminal but she is 87 so perhaps she was fast tracked due to her age. I know she did have a telephone assessment though.
I have also heard that AA claims are so much quicker because there's no assessment. This would explain the 7 week timescale.

I'd be surprised if you got a letter inviting you for an assessment after just 8 or so weeks. Double that time frame and that is more like how long it will take at a minimum.

If it helps, I applied on 4th November 2021 and was given a telephone assesment on 16th Feb, the suprising thing was their decision which I received 21st Feb but turned down for both with not enough points - 8 and 4 I was awarded so Ive now asked for an MR which I have done today over the phone (28th Feb) and was told I would get a decision in approx 12 weeks0
