Given that we have newly installed new UPVC windows, are any of these methods likely to cause damage to them?

When I looked at a few before some say whether or not ok to use next to uvpc. But you could cover the pvc well before applying.

If yoou're repainting, why are you stripping to bare wood? Unless the finish is terrible, can you not just sand it flat before using something like zinnser before repainting?
