Aqua closing account - any ideas?

Options
Hi!

I have had an Aqua card. In November, I had a heart attack at work and everything bounced. Aqua have now closed my card and forwarded the account onto a debt collector but they are recalling it so I can pay it off with them. Now - here's the thing. They're happy to recall as it is a genuine reason for not paying, but they won't reopen my account, not even with a lower limit after I've paid off, etc..

Any ideas what I can do? The last few months have trashed my credit rating and I've only just got back to some form of strength and am already stressed!

Thanks!

  • If you need another credit card, apply to another sub prime lender, such as Vanquis. But make sure to clear in full.

If declined, leave it a while, leave it until you get the debt cleared.

Thanks! I'm hoping I won't need it, it was more just the case of it being sprung on me from getting out. Shocked me how quickly they closed it, that's all.
