Missed monthly payment on credit file

Looking for some help as I am hoping to get a mortgage soon. My energy provider has said I missed my monthly payment in October but I was told by them to cancel my direct debit as they where changing it from £100 to £290 which I challenged and paid £150 over the phone. I now have an arrangement for a new direct debit for £150 per month from November onwards, but they have said that even though have I paid it each month but because I did not clear the whole balance at the end of October then it goes as I missed payment for October. I have challenged this with Equifax and Eon but they are refusing to change the U on my credit file.

A U marker is not a negative.

U stands for ‘Unclassified’. It is often the status recorded when an account is newly opened and the lender does not have any other activity to report on the account. U markers are neutral, so are not regarded positively or negatively by lenders.Scorpio5555 said:Looking for some help as I am hoping to get a mortgage soon. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
Sorry my mistake it was actuality an X, it clearly says that a X means a missed month. I never missed a month as I paid over the phone when my direct debit was stopped.dr_adidas01 said:

My mistake it was actually a X which is definitely a missed month. I was advised on the phone from Eon to cancel as they where trying to triple my direct debit. Until it was sorted I paid over the phone so no missed monthly payments and they are saying they won’t change my credit report due to not clearing the whole balance even though no one told me I had to. Any help appreciated?HeinzVarieties said:A U marker is not a negative.

Equifax say it means the account has been transferred. That's not "definitely a missed month" it's transferred.Scorpio5555 said:

1, 2, 3 markers are missed payments in order of how many months in arrears you are.0 -
I just checked Kredit Karma again and it clearly says an X is a missed month.porkisnotmeat said:

It's not a missed month. A missed month would be 1 for the first, 2 for the second etc.Scorpio5555 said:

Sorry you are mistaken you said previously it meant my account was transferred and I’m still with Eon, maybe an X means something different on Equifax, but on Credit Karma it clearly states a missed month.porkisnotmeat said:
