Broken oven

We had an oven replaced under an insurance policy we had taken out. They replaced the oven and our insurance expired 1.5 years after the replacement was installed. 1 year later (2.5 years after replacement) the oven has broken.
the insurance company have said our claim should be with the company who provided the replacement oven even though it was the insurance company who arranged the replacement.
where do we stand on this as they are denying any responsibly

if the insurance ran out 2.5 years ago then you have no insurance cover. they are not liable for anything happening now.0

As the insurance company says you need to contact the shop that supplied the replacement oven. What guarantee did you get ? Did you pay for an extended guarantee ?starnold444 said:.................

It sounds like one of the often-asked questions about insurance and warranties, the answer to which is almost always that the clock doesn't reset when an item is replaced under a policy. If you had a three year policy for example, and the oven was replaced two years in, your policy or warranty would only cover the replacement oven for the remaining year, it wouldn't come with a new three year warranty.
It may be different if you were supplied with a cheque or credit voucher with which to buy your own replacement. Then it's down to the warranty terms that came with the new oven or pursuing your consumer rights instead.0
