Contacting British Gas
How is the best way ? I was transferred to BG from Neon Reef a while ago however it says in my account that I pay by cash/cheque which is incorrect.
I've had no emails from them for a while now, the last one said they will work with Neon to transfer my details across and I've heard nothing since.
When I log in, it does ask for a meter reading however

It's only been two months - these SLoRs often take months.
There was another thread today which gave latest updates for the many SLoRs that BG are involved in
This is the latest www.britishgas.co.uk/solr/neon-reef.htmlNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
How were you paying before?0

I had to use their online chat facility to set my DD up when I was transferred. Took about a month from the original message from them saying I was now a BG customer for all the functions on the BG site to work.venomx said:How is the best way ? I think they've set up all transferred accounts as pay on receipt of bill. Their SoLR tariffs don't have any price difference for DD or cash/cheque. When I was transferred over I was able to set up a DD on my online account, but it did take a few weeks for that option to work and I think it was after I'd started giving meter reads.
Best way to get in touch with them is via online chat. The option usually pops up in the bottom right of the screen or can be found on their help pages. Strangely it seems to work alot better if you are not logged into your account, or even try a different browser or incognito mode.1
