Yes if you can point to the fire, storm, lightning strike etc that caused the damage... without that its likely wear and tear and therefore a maintenance issue and not an insurance one0

Some insurances it depends on how bad the weather was - so if it was just ordinary winter wind that blew it away then that shows it was too weak, but if a gale over a certain level damages it then it is storm damage and covered. Does your insurance have anything in the small print?

Is it really worth claiming? We've just had ours done and some of the tiles replaced, it only cost us just over £200Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
Make £2024 in 2024...0 -
We lost a ridge tile in the last big blow. When the chappie (spiderman in denim) was up there he checked the whole roof and re-cemented a couple more tiles.
£120 ( the joys of not living in or near London) so certainly not worth putting in an insurance claim.0 -
Depends on the cost really ,we had our ridge tiles come off in the last storm ,about 5 or 6 ridge tiles ,cost £1280 to repair as they used scaffolding so went through the insurance company.0
