Arriving and flying within 72h - test?

Hello
Friend will arrive Thursday and fly off again Sunday.
I understand they need day 2 lateral flow and predeparture lateral flow.
Now if they do their day 2 on Saturday surely that's still valid on Sunday? Or do they need to do the test twice (separate lateral flow predeparture) for sake of paperwork? Those would technically both be done Saturday?
Couldn't find the answer anywhere.

These will be for two different regimes presumably, i.e. the day 2 one is a UK-specified requirement, whereas a pre-departure one will be to satisfy the destination's rules?
Personally I'd have thought it likely that the same test would satisfy both requirements but, given the need to book a UK-compatible one initially for the arrival here, it all comes down to exactly how the rules are written by the destination country for the return trip, so check those in detail....0 -
When I did a Day 2 return one with Chronomics it generated a certificate with passport number, name, DOB and gender on it, I think the sticking point here is some countries will insist on a "fit to fly" one having details such as the flight number on it, obvious the UK Day 2 test wont have this detail because you arent using it to catch a flight.0

I have experience with Collinson and Testing for All, and I'm pretty certain those certificates would be satisfactory for this purpose.
A Georgian certificate I was issued with (which is actually a printout from the Ministry of Health website) is the most basic I've seen so far with any provider in terms of details, however was sufficient to gain access to Poland on my return to the UK (with a layover exceeding 24 hours), despite being pretty sure it wouldn't meet the Polish requirements due to a lack of English (it wasn't looked twice at despite every other certificate I glanced at looking far more professional). The same came with a French certificate from a pharmacy in December which didn't include certain details I'd expect to be included for return to the UK.emmajones1976 said:When I did a Day 2 return one with Chronomics it generated a certificate with passport number, name, DOB and gender on it, I think the sticking point here is some countries will insist on a "fit to fly" one having details such as the flight number on it, obvious the UK Day 2 test wont have this detail because you arent using it to catch a flight.
Most countries seem only bothered of a negative test that can be traced to a professional provider in reality.💙💛 💔0 -
Thanks that's helpful
Previously had bad experience with easyjet at Luton where I had a recent negative test from NHS and they said that isn't sufficient

Quite sure no country will accept an NHS PCR negative test as a fit to fly test, and never have. You dont get a certificate with any details on it for starters. Personally I thought it was quite clear NHS tests couldnt be used for travel.
Thats hardly Easyjets fault, is it? Airlines dont set the rules.0 -

Covid tests for international travel must be purchased from a private provider ( I.e You have to pay for them )0 -
