Have been with nationwide flex plus for many many years , always pay extra to cover my husbands prostate cancer .tried to renew this year and their criteria has changed and will not cover his prostate problem . The problem is we have 2 holidays booked from 2 years ago that have been postponed due to Covid but can go this year , how do we stand as no longer covered now for prostate , have tried other company’s but they want to charge nearly £1500 for cover, it’s well out of our price range . Do we chance it and go with normal cover ?

No, you do not go with "normal cover" since potentially any claim could be declined.
Try to find some more companies with more reasonable charges, or telephone and enquire about excluding any claims related to his condition.

Have had similar with my asthma. No additional charge for past few years but they asked for £97 this year as they have changed the way they asses things.Nothing has changed in my medical situation at all but they have decided if you have two inhalers it is classed as two medications.
I have pointed out that two inhalers are the norm for all asthma cases and they should make this new change known in their literature as it has the potential to affect many many people.
other insurers and search engines on comparison sites don’t appear to follow their thinking.0 -
I think if you dig out your paperwork from previous insurance; you should see that this is NOT a change. Each inhaler is and has always been classed as two medications. And the first answers available are 0-2 medications; hence that if you had gone from 1 to 2 medications, that should not have made a difference to premiums. It is likely the increase is for another reason...Wanny53 said:Have had similar with my asthma. I imagine that asthmatics are viewed as being a greater risk due to Covid being a respiratory disease.0
