TravelEuro Hotel Cancellation

Hello
I've booked a hotel for this saturday at the mercure in Haydock through Traveleuro which I now need to cancel. My mother was involved in a car accident and is currently in hospital, and I need to be with my family.
I've instructed Traveleuro to cancel the booking, but the terms state that cancellations are non-refundable.
Do I have any rights in this regard considering the circumstances?
Any advice would be appreciated.

No.If you booked non-refundable it means you have no right to a refund if you choose to cancel.0

Sorry to hear about the circumstances,
You don’t have any automatic rights to a refund.
However, you could explain your circumstances and politely ask if the hotel would refund you or permit you to change for a later date ( this would be a goodwill gesture- not something you are entitled to and down to the discretion of the Hotel )
I have had a refund from Premier Inn on a non-refundable room when I was in a similar situation .
If you have holiday insurance policy ( either an annual policy or one for this specific trip ) you may be covered and able to claim from them . You would need to check the T&Cs of your policy.Best wishes to you and your family .0
