V6 Tivo Box Usable?

Cancelled my subscription with Virgin and they want £40 to retain my 3 boxes or i can return them, just wondered if they still work with freeview or anything if there actually worth keeping to use as we still plan to use Netflix and freeview possible Amazon. Struggling to find a defintiive answer and forgot to answer cancellations.

Looks like they cut the signal totally so you dont even get the free channels, just whack an aerial into your TV instead (via a Freeview box if its an old telly)
