External pipe leaking

One of the pipes on the outside of my house is dripping, but I don't know what the pipe is for. If it's part of central heating (boiler is in upstairs bedroom) or a pipe from the bathroom. Don't know whetehr to get a plumber or a handyman to sort it. It's the horizontal pipe in the picture. Any advice would be great.

Yep, that's just an ordinary drain from a sink or bath.  Handyman job - or DIY if you're OK up a ladder. Looks like bog-standard solvent-weld joints - a few quid for some bits of pipe, joints and a tub of solvent, available from any DIY shed, Screwfix, wherever.

    Thank you!
  • You sure it's leaking and not condensation. Do you have a condensing boiler.

It might be a condensate pipe from a condensing boiler.  In that case, it's supposed to be dripping water into the main soil stack, not down the wall.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

It's probaly a joint someone has forgot to solvent weld.

It does look like the condensate pipe from the boiler as the prv pipe is right below it.

It's connected into the main stack with a strap boss and would have been a good job apart from the fact it's leaking.

There might be enough wiggle room to pull it out and solvent weld it.

And the strap boss is black! but at least they used the correct sized pipe for external condensate.
Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.
