Can you update a Hudl2?

I have read that is it impossible to update a Hudl2 beyond Android 5. Is that true?
If it is possible to update to Android 6, how do you do it?
If it is possible to update to Android 6, how do you do it?

Last official update for Hudl 2 took it to Android 5.1.
Like most Android devices the Hudl can be rooted to allow you to install unofficial updates. I've had a quick look on the XDA site which is a good place to find such stuff and there isn't much. You would need a link to download tools and the new OS files together with detailed step-by-step instructions. Some comments that indicate that at least a few people have achieved a working tablet after update is always welcome.
Do you have a particular need to update other than an interest in the process? Do you need a basic guide to rooting Android devices, aka I Need a New Shiny Brick?1
